Manhart Racing has produced a BMW Z4 with the M5 V10
BMW reckons that there is no need for a Z4M, so the best Bavaria offers off the shelf is just over 300bhp. But one man has other ideas – Günther Manhart of Manhart Racing. He decided that what was really needed in the Z4 was that nice V10 from the M5.

Just as Audi decides that the R8 e-Tron isn’t a production viable option, Mercedes decides to prove there is potential for electric cars at the very high end. The Mercedes SLS AMG Electric Drive has been to the Nurburgring and set a new lap record for a production electric car of just 7 minutes 55 seconds. The SLS AMG ED, which goes on sale very soon at more than £300k, may weigh a chunk more than a regular SLS (550kg more), but it gets plenty of help from its four electric motors – one at each corner – to overcome the weight of its batteries with 751bhp and 737lb/ft of torque on hand.
McLaren F1 GTR Longtail (pictured) sells at Gooding & Co for $5.28 million
Even with the arrival of the new McLaren P1, the ultimate supercar is still the McLaren F1. The McLaren F1 is one of rarest of the more modern supercars, and McLaren produced just 64 road going F1s in addition to a number of racing versions, with the F1 GTR Longtail the last, and rarest, of the breed. So the arrival of a McLaren F1 GTR Longtail on the auction block at Gooding & Co’s sale in Scottsdale raised expectations of a possible record-breaking price for the GTR Longtail, with pre-sale estimates putting the price between $5 and $7 million.
